Hope Church

 Hope Church Halifax is becoming Orthodox and hopes to be received into The Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of the British Isles and Ireland in late Summer 2025.

This has been a long and careful journey for us, exploring the Scriptures and searching for the ‘pillar and foundation of the Truth’ (1Tim 3:15). We are excited to be becoming Orthodox but we understand that to some of our friends this might seem like a strange step to take, all we can offer is to share with you the treasure we have found in the Orthodox Church. In becoming Orthodox we are not abandoning any of the Truth that we have held so dearly, but simply finding the fullness of it; we have found the Church that Christ founded at Pentecost. Every moment of the Divine Liturgy is full of Christ, and there are no distractions from Him! Glory!

But what we have found is that Orthodoxy really has to be experienced to be understood. We have been exploring Orthodoxy for 5 years now, and are only just on the edge of becoming Orthodox ourselves. We are not yet a fully Orthodox community, and whilst you are welcome to join us any Sunday, if you want to experience a true Orthodox service please find your nearest Orthodox church via the Archdiocese page and go along to a Sunday Divine Liturgy, I promise you will find a warm welcome!
