I am deeply encouraged to see Doug and Rachael stepping out in faith in order to plant in Halifax. Halifax has been in the prayers of many in Yorkshire - and in our sights at Gospel Yorkshire - as a place of urgent need of more Gospel witness. We are delighted to see this new venture, and give it our full support.

The FIEC identified Halifax as one of the most spiritually needy areas in the country. I’m delighted that Doug and Rachael have taken up the challenge and as a family of churches we look forward to supporting and encouraging them in this great gospel enterprise.

At City Church Manchester we are really excited about Doug and Rachael moving up to Halifax to plant a gospel-driven church in the town. We are convinced of the need and confident in both the vision and leadership of the church. We are currently considering ways that we can resource the church plant and encourage others to join with us in praying and considering how they might send and financially support this exciting gospel work.

We are so pleased that Doug and Rachael have responded to God’s call to plant a church in Halifax. They will bring pastoral preaching, creative outreach initiatives, solid discipleship and training, and an aptitude for leadership into a thoroughly biblical vision for how church works. This will be a church plant which intends to plant more churches, reach into harder places and make training a priority. It will be warm, welcoming, theological, practical, culturally aware and full of Jesus! The Clarks are great fun and they have a very healthy family life to model to others. It’s been an absolute joy to work with Doug and Rachael and we will miss them and the kids immensely. Soli Deo Gloria!

We are so pleased at the plans for a new church plant in Halifax. We have been praying for some years that this will be possible, so to see the prospect of a new work that will be both Biblically robust and evangelistically earnest is both heart-warming and exciting. We are looking forward to partnering with those who will be involved and are continuing to pray for God’s blessing on it!
